Kriegspire
Kriegspire is the late-game volcanic-and-snow region in the far west of the continent — a harsh wasteland split between a fire-scarred volcano and a frozen mountain range, governed by an Overlord. It is the densest dungeon hub in the game, packing five dungeons (the Demon Lair / Devil's Outpost, the Superior Temple of Baa, Castle Kriegspire, Agar's Laboratory, and the Caves of the Dragon Riders), plus a notable cluster of fountains and two trainers. You first arrive on the Grand Tour (Stage 8), when you only stop the endless winter, take the Jeweled Egg quest, touch Obelisk #4 and the statuette pedestal, and set a Lloyd's Beacon — every dungeon here is deferred. You return to close the High Council (Stage 12) for the Demon Lair and the Superior Temple of Baa, then once more during the four-crystal hunt (Stage 13) to take Castle Kriegspire for Memory Crystal Epsilon and the Jeweled Egg. The outdoor canyon is patrolled by Magic-immune Minotaurs and Rock Beasts / Earth Spirits plus elemental Drakes — fly over them rather than grinding through.

End winter
[stage]Giver: Lord Eric von Stromgard (Castle Stromgard, Frozen Highlands) β resolved via the Hermit on the Mountain in Kriegspire
Lord Stromgard's council quest to end the endless winter. Fly along the snowy southern-mountain ridge of Kriegspire to the lone hut and talk to the Hermit on the Mountain; he stops the winter. Turn the quest in back at Castle Stromgard (Frozen Highlands) for the councillor's vote.
Retrieve the Jeweled Egg
[stage]Giver: Emil Lime (eastern house, Kriegspire town)
Emil Lime in Kriegspire village asks you to recover the Jeweled Egg, which sits in a chest inside Castle Kriegspire. Take the quest now on the Grand Tour, but bank it — the egg is collected during the Castle Kriegspire crawl (behind the big door in the north wing) alongside Memory Crystal Epsilon in Stage 13.
Fix the prices of all stables

Kriegspire's stable is one of the nine in Fleise's council quest. Click "Price Fixing" with the Kriegspire stable owner as you pass through, then return to Fleise for her vote and a gold reward (finishing faster pays more). Grab the stable's horseshoe (+2 skill points) while you are there.
The Devil Plans (Devil's Outpost)
[stage]Giver: Lord Osric Temper (Castle Temper, Free Haven) β cleared in the Demon Lair
Temper's council quest, the last of the six standard council quests. Kill the unique Devil of Baa (~540 HP) in the Demon Lair / Devil's Outpost and take the Devil Plans quest item he drops, then give it to Lord Temper for his vote.
Expose Silvertongue (Letter from Zenofex)
[stage]Giver: Regent Wilbur Humphrey (Castle Ironfist) β via the Superior Temple of Baa
After the traitor Slicker Silvertongue snubs you at the Council, Humphrey gives you the Cloak of Baa to enter the Superior Temple of Baa in Kriegspire. Collect the High Cleric's Key and the High Sorcerer's Key, open the central chest for the Letter from Zenofex (proof Silvertongue serves the Kreegan lord Zenofex), and present it at the Council to expose him — your reputation jumps to Saintly.
Memory Crystal Epsilon
[stage]Giver: The Oracle (Free Haven) β retrieved from Castle Kriegspire
One of the Oracle's four Memory Crystals. Epsilon sits deep in Castle Kriegspire, past the minotaur halls and the eastern circular-room maze. Seat it in the Oracle's corridors for 100,000 experience.

A single room of Devil Spawn / Worker / Warrior; kill the unique Devil of Baa (~540 HP) for the Devil Plans quest item. Save and switch to turn-based before entering β every demon rushes at once. Use Water/Cold, NEVER Fire (devils are Fire-immune). The demons drain spell points, so do not bring a pure-caster party.

Needs the Cloak of Baa to enter and Expert Perception (rank 8+) to open the trapped doors. Get the High Cleric's Key (western room) and High Sorcerer's Key (far-eastern room), then open the central chest for the Letter from Zenofex β touching it without both keys releases monsters. Wall-to-wall casters: Warlocks (~400 HP) spam Insanity. Enemies drop sellable Temple Gongs.

Puzzle solution
The Podium spells it out: "Expert Perception is the key and the doors of Baa will let you be. The Spiral then each head, talk to Baa or you'll be dead."
- Have Expert Perception on the active character before touching doors β without it each door deals 50 fire damage and won't open.
- Walk the Spiral path first (this arms the final head).
- Touch the four Baa Heads strictly in order: One, then Two, Three, Four. Touching one out of sequence gives "Baa! Baa!" and fire damage.
- Finally address the Almighty Head of Baa. If you skipped the order it says "You're not worthy of Baa!" (100 damage); done right it grants +50,000 experience (and β500 reputation).

Minotaur halls (Magic-immune β use weapons and bows), with Minotaur Kings casting Finger of Death. The Jeweled Egg is behind the big door in the north wing; a switch in the top-right circular room opens the path to Epsilon. Do NOT drop into the eastern circular rooms (each spawns a wave) and leave the right-hand door alone (Lurch, 2000 HP, Physical-immune). Two entrance torches hand over 15,000 gold each.

Optional detour. Boss Agar is a Power Lich+ (Physical-immune); also Flying / Terrible / Maddening Eyes and Agar's mutated birds (Magic-immune). On the GrayFace patch the old chest / artifact-duplication bugs here are fixed. Not needed for any crystal.

Quest-givers: the Hermit on the Mountain (lone hut on the snowy southern ridge) ends the winter; Emil Lime (eastern house in the village) gives the Jeweled Egg quest. Shops & services: Kriegspire town has an Alchemist Store, an Armor Store, a Weapon Store, an Inn, a Coach Service (coach to Free Haven runs Wednesday/Saturday, 3 days, 250gp), a Stable, and a Training Hall (max level 80). Fountains (a notable cluster): a temporary +30 levels fountain (great right before a hard fight or training run), a temporary +40 AC fountain, a 5,000gp-for-5,000-XP fountain, and two permanent resistance fountains that each kill or eradicate the drinker — +10 Magic Resistance (eradicates) and +5 Elemental Resistances (kills) — so only drink those on a character you intend to resurrect afterward. There is also a fountain that teleports you to Castle Kriegspire. Obelisk #4 stands in the region (northwest area) with the statuette pedestal nearby (place the statuette in Stage 11). Seasonal: the Shrine of Fire (August) and Shrine of Cold (October) appear here — ask the Seer in Castle Ironfist for locations. The region resets every 8 months.

In Castle Kriegspire's largest chamber, before you cross the bridge to the far side, two wall torches flank the entrance (one left, one right). Click on each (or around it) to collect 15,000 gold from each, for 30,000 total. This is a one-time pickup, not a money printer — the patch fixes the old duplication tricks.

An optional in-temple subquest worth 50,000 XP: press the four Baa heads in numerical order 1 → 2 → 3 → 4, walk the spiral corridor, and return. Caveats: it carries a brutal -500 reputation hit (it fights the Saintly status you need for Master Light), and it only works before you expose Silvertongue — afterwards the mural says “You are not worthy of Baa,” drains your HP, and gives nothing. Claim it now or skip it entirely.

The doors are trapped — bring Expert Perception (rank 8+) on at least one character. Clear the western rectangular room for the High Cleric's Key and the far-eastern room (a priest carries it) for the High Sorcerer's Key. Open the central chest (on the table, in the room with the single Druid) with both keys to claim the Letter from Zenofex. Touching the chest without both keys releases monsters instead.

The Jeweled Egg is behind the big door in the north wing. To open the path to Epsilon, ring around the eastern circular rooms on the top ledges (do not drop into them — each spawns a fresh wave), reach the top-right room, and push the switch in its central column. That opens a passage off the south side of the earlier hallway; follow it (ignore the right-hand door — it hides Lurch, 2000 HP, Physical-immune), take the cage-room scroll, then drop south for Memory Crystal Epsilon. Step on the black void to teleport back up.
